Wed, 10 Sept:  do some work around Ch. 1 of Language of Composition ; start author selection process - journal assignment
HOMEWORK:  Read Ch. 2 of Language of Composition (p. 35-49); bring Great American Short Stories to class Friday

Fri, 12 Sept:  discuss reading and marking text - mark "Young Goodman Brown"; discuss short story and read and mark criticism
HOMEWORK:  Author Journal selection process; read and mark Twain's short story for Monday
